Project Details
As the main contractor for this significant improvisation project, BSFG were responsible for the design, systematization and installation. We designed the layout for the additional storage and our efficient design and expertise ensured a smooth process of the venture from conception to completion.
The storage solution of choice for Waterloo were our cutting edge two tier bike racks – the Easylift – considering the very limited space available at the station this was the best option to provide the 330 new secure cycle parking spaces to support the sustainable travel choices of its daily commuters.
The Easylift is a highly convenient two-level bicycle parking system. The gas-assisted lifting system ensures that a bicycle can be parked on the top level effortlessly. The end of the light-weight aluminium groove rests on the ground so that the bicycle can simply be wheeled onto it and hardly has to be lifted at all. The two levels mean that the parking capacity is doubled!
We undertook the necessary Groundwork requirements for the project in one of London’s busiest environments without disrupting the day-to-day runnings of the country’s busiest transport hub.
BSFG also oversaw the installation of security lighting and camera systems for the new storage to provide Waterloo Station with optimum secure cycle parking.
The result is a state-of-the-art cycle parking area which provides the secure and spacious cycle storage necessary for commuters, cycling enthusiasts, tourists and the general public, at our capital city’s busiest railway station.
