Location Canary Wharf, London
Client KPMG
Landscape Architect Swanke Hayden Connell Architects
Product Cycle Parking
Sector Retail & Commercial
Completion Date January 2011

The current area had accommodate 200 bikes spaces but also full change facilities, a drying room, lockers, showers and toilets. Further to this the client wanted to achieve BREEAM out-standing!

The original CAD drawing by Swanke Hayden Connell only contained 120 cycle parking spaces using traditional bike stands. This original layout would not have earned the project the necessary credits to achieve the required BREEAM rating.

Once we received the plans from Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, we began planning the area with Spacepods. We choose Spacepods as they can save up to 50% of the space required by traditional bike stands and are a cyclist friendly, easy to use, semi-vertical system.

The final plan we generated for Swanke Hayden Connell Architects contained the 200 bikes spaces they required and in less space then the original layout using traditional bike stands. Due to this the rest of the basement area could be planned containing all the requirements for the project to achieve a BREEAM outstanding rating!
