Elizabeth Street, Belgravia
BSFG has supplied a large number of the new Planters to Elizabeth Street in Belgravia, London.
Project Details
The planters have been utilised to extend the available outdoor space for restaurants on the street. The freestanding units have been positioned in parking bays in front of the buildings that create enclosed dining areas to encourage business for the hospitality sector during the pandemic as well as a wider goal to reduce car use and fuel emissions within the centre of the city.
The minimal design of Inspira provides a canvas to introduce colour and nature to the urban realm. The plants offer a number of environmental benefits such as air purification by reducing CO2 from car exhausts. They also provide a barrier from winds and vehicle noise as well as reduced visibility from onlookers for those dining.
The planters are part of a project to rejuvenate the area and have assisted the businesses to get through the difficulties the past year has presented with lockdown restrictions limiting customers to dine outside only.
