Case Studies
Coulsdon South Railway Station
BSFG undertook a project at Coulsdon South Station in Surrey, in collaboration with their client, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR).
Project Details
The project aimed to address the increasing demand for secure and sheltered parking facilities for bicycles and motorcycles, enhancing the commuter experience and promoting sustainable transportation options.
BSFG designed the parking area to accommodate six motorcycles under the Junior Brighton shelters, ensuring protection from rain and adverse weather conditions. The installation of Beefy Bridge Ground Anchors added an extra layer of security, earning approval from motorcycle users who promptly left their locks on-site as a testament to the effectiveness of the solution.
For cycle parking needs, BSFG installed Brighton Shelters with Easy Lift Premium cycle stands, providing 24 parking spaces. Additionally, a cargo bike stand was included to accommodate non-standard bicycles, catering to the diverse needs of commuters.
The implementation of BSFG’s solutions at Coulsdon South Station proved to be highly effective and well-received by commuters. The enhanced security measures provided peace of mind for motorcyclists, while the innovative two-tiered cycle racks optimised space utilisation, meeting the growing demand for cycle parking.
The integration of motion-activated solar LED lighting further improved visibility and safety, ensuring a seamless parking experience for users, while also minimising energy consumption and light pollution.
Within days of installation, positive feedback from motorcycle users indicated their approval of the new facilities, reflecting the success of the project in meeting the client’s requirements and enhancing the overall commuter experience at Coulsdon South Station.
