City Cross Business Park
BSFG supply new sheltered cycle parking to an upgraded warehouse space at City Cross Business Park, in Greenwich London.
Project Details
The project was led by contractors MagRock who specialise in new build, fit out and refurbishment projects. This project sees the refurbishment of the former Spicers office furniture warehouse, stripping it out and refitting the interior and exterior ready for future use.
In addition to the warehouse update, the building surroundings have been relandscaped with improved vehicle access, car parking and cycle parking. It is here where BSFG have supplied Swansea shelters with additional green roof and integrated gutters in the legs.
A number of Swansea shelters now occupy former car parking spaces – each of the 4 shelters offers space for up to 16 bicycles whilst using the equivalent floorspace of 2 cars. This is to meet the demand for more bicycle use in the city.
The living sedum roof requires little to no maintenance and is a welcome addition to the industrial area bringing much-needed green to the space.
The client opted for the hooped cycle stands known as the Street Stand which takes inspiration from the popular and secure Streetpod, offering more security for bikes than a traditional Sheffield Stand.
The Street Stand features two locking loops and an angled steel insert to make cutting difficult and is available in standard Galvanised, or Stainless Steel grade 304 and 316.
This bike stand can help contribute towards gaining 2x ENE8 Cycle storage credits when used in the appropriate situation.
The project is a testament to the fact that rebuild is not always the required solution to unused space by delivering a pristine warehouse space with reduced environmental impact.
